Microwave Absorber: Sheet, Die-cut or Injection Molded

POLYIRON microwave absorber is a proprietary iron oxide powder mixed with various catalysts to form a non-conductive, moldable dielectric material to absorb unwanted magnetic and electric emissions or to shield sensitive devices, especially within small enclosures. Microwave absorber is used in the RF and microwave industry for many applications, typically with device frequencies of .5 GHz to 40 GHz or greater.

SRC's microwave absorber is not a "foam" or grill, but a highly engineered material that is produced in small batches and to very precise customer part dimensions. PolyIron microwave absorber can be used in applications that require tolerance for high temperature, moisture, the environment or low-outgassing. Because the material is easily cut or molded to shape it can be used economically, even in very high volume products.

For production of precision 3D parts, SRC provides custom injection molded microwave absorber directly from the customer's drawings or specs. Our precision machine shop can produce low-cost aluminum molds for small or limited run jobs, or we can manufacture heat treated tool steel for durability on high production parts.

SRC can also produce "kiss-cut" or die-cut microwave absorber in convenient sheets, pre-cut, precisely fabricated to our customer's drawing or specs, and nested within each sheet so as to minimize excess material, or parts may be kitted to the customer's request.

SRC manufactures microwave absorber in standard 6 by 14 inch sheet sizes, including: .030, .050, .060, .075, .087, .100, and .125. Sheets cut easily with steel dies, water-jet or a razor knife, and they are available with a peel-and-stick adhesive backing.
